Friar’s Bush Graveyard is an ancient burying-place located on Stranmillis Road, South Belfast.

There are over 450 years of known history here, and the burying place pre-dates Belfast itself.

A white Gothic-style building with pointed arches and a gate, surrounded by a curved white wall, located on a street with a lamppost and an information board. Behind it, there is a green area with trees and a background of houses and hills.

Our group, the Friends of Friar’s Bush is a collective of tour guides, historians, genealogists and naturalists who offer tours of the graveyard to suit all interests.

Our regular historical walking tour of the site runs every Saturday at 11am.

No booking is required - just turn up wearing sensible shoes.

The cost is £15 cash per person with primary school aged children going free.

Every Saturday the tour is led by a different guide from the group, so no two tours are exactly alike, as each guide has their own special areas of interest.

We welcome private and group tour enquiries & run a range of specialist tours.
